The Virginia Beach police department needed a new updated precinct building, but knew they needed to keep the old building open until the new one was finished. Their solution was to construct the new building on the adjacent Kempsville Park property.

Deputy Chief, Patrick Gallagher, decided that this was an excellent opportunity to include the surrounding community by developing a new playground. This playground is designed to build a positive relationship between the citizens and the police department in the area. One of the things Bliss did was provide some unique custom-designed side panels on the outskirts of the play structure letting the community know they are safe and protected during play at all times by Virginia Beach 4th Precinct.

The police department will be having a open house and will use this park for future community gatherings.
