Sal Oliveri Park
Sal Oliveri Veterans Park was named after the city’s former mayor and city commissioner, Sal Oliveri. The new playground and custom shade structure were purchased by the City of Hollywood and funded by the General Obligation Bond Projects. Patty Carruthers, the City’s local sales representative from Bliss Products, worked alongside David Vazquez, City of Hollywood’s Assistant Director of Parks, to bring this new recreation space to life. Due to COVID restrictions, the project was put on hold due to the bond’s requirement to hold on-site community meetings to discuss the needs of the citizens. Eventually, on-site meetings were converted to virtual meetings and, in 2021 we were able to move the project forward.
