J Lewis Hall Park Playground

We were tasked with revamping an entire playground area, replacing outdated equipment and pavilions that had seen better days. The County specified a desire for a “tree fort/nature-based” theme for the play structures, along with a pavilion that would be easily accessible and equipped for gatherings.

Their vision included a structure that would be engaging and challenging, encouraging climbing, and ensuring fun for all ages. The incorporation of a “tree trunk” element served as a focal point, adding a touch of whimsy to the design.

To enhance safety, we opted for a two-color synthetic turf safety surfacing, mimicking the natural texture of outdoor environments.

Throughout the design process, Ron Harley, our Florida representative and the rest of our team collaborated closely with the Parks Department to ensure that we aligned with their expectations and requirements.

This collaboration resulted in a playground area that blends seamlessly with its natural surroundings while providing ample opportunities for play and community gatherings.
