Patty Carruthers – Bliss Products and Services Playground and Outdoor Equipment Sales Representative for Southeast Florida / Miami

Helping Southeast Florida communities design and build playgrounds, fitness areas, dog parks, shade structures, and gathering spaces that last for generations.

More than 90% of my work comes from referrals and repeat clients – something I’m proud of because it shows communities across Southeast Florida trust Patty Carruthers to deliver results.  For over 35 years, I’ve been helping cities, schools, HOAs, and neighborhood groups create safe, beautiful outdoor spaces across Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River, Okeechobee, and Monroe counties.

Whether it’s a new playground, a dog park renovation, or shade and shelter installation, my focus is always on long-term value and community impact.

I’ve guided projects of every size, from Miami Gardens’ $60 million bond program to park renovations in Hollywood, and down through the Florida Keys where smaller community projects make just as big a difference.  Each installation – whether a playground, pavilion, sports court, or fitness area – is carefully planned so it meets today’s needs and will continue serving families, students, and residents for years to come.

Working in South Florida means designing with our climate in mind.  From coastal weather and year-round sun to high-traffic use in schoolyards and public parks, I help communities choose the right playground equipment, surfacing, and site furnishings to stand up to local conditions.  By factoring in safety standards, ADA accessibility, and durability, I ensure each space is built to perform season after season.

At the heart of my work is a simple belief: outdoor spaces bring people together.  Parks and playgrounds are where children learn, neighbors connect, and families gather. That’s why every project I take on is personal – because creating inclusive, welcoming places across Southeast Florida isn’t just my profession, it’s my passion.

Over the years, I’ve built strong partnerships with schools, municipalities, HOAs, and parks departments throughout Southeast Florida.  Those relationships mean I understand what communities truly need – whether that’s durable playground surfacing for high-traffic schools, shaded seating for neighborhood parks, or safe, inclusive equipment for children of all abilities.  My role is to listen, provide the right solutions, and ensure every project reflects both the vision of the community and the unique character of South Florida.

I’m Patty Carruthers, a Southeast Florida sales rep with 35+ years of experience in playgrounds and park design.  From Miami and Fort Lauderdale to West Palm Beach and the Keys, I help schools, cities, and neighborhoods build outdoor spaces – playgrounds, shelters, surfacing, and fitness areas – made for our climate.

Southeast Florida Counties and Communities I Represent

I work with cities, schools, HOAs, and neighborhoods across Indian River, Okeechobee, St. Lucie, Martin, Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe counties to plan playgrounds, dog parks, shade, and outdoor fitness spaces that last.

Working in Southeast Florida means I get to help many different kinds of communities – from busy cities like Miami and Fort Lauderdale to smaller towns such as Okeechobee.  Each county is different, but the goal is always the same: to give people safe, useful outdoor spaces.  Sometimes that’s a school playground in St. Lucie, other times it’s a dog park in Broward or new shade for a park in the Keys.  Whatever the project, I focus on making sure it fits the community and will hold up over time.

St. Lucie communities are growing, and so are their recreation needs. I provide playground equipment, shelters, and outdoor fitness spaces designed for high use, ensuring every installation supports active, healthy lifestyles for students and residents alike.

Across Southeast Florida, each county has its own character, but they all share the same need for safe, reliable places to gather and play.  From Miami-Dade to the Keys and up through Broward, Palm Beach, and the Treasure Coast, I’m committed to helping schools, parks, and neighborhoods create outdoor spaces that truly fit their communities.  Every project is an opportunity to give something lasting back — and that’s the part of this work I value most.

Testimonials from Southeast Florida Communities

Hear directly from the people who use and manage the parks, playgrounds, and public spaces I’ve helped build across Miami, Palm Beach, and beyond.

Every project tells its own story, but what matters most is how the space is received once it becomes part of the community. Here are a few words from schools, cities, and partners who have seen the results firsthand. Because many organizations limit named testimonials, these short notes reflect the typical close-out comments we’re allowed to share. If you need named references, I can provide them on request through the proper channels.

“Bliss Products and Services gave us a clear plan and budget, then delivered exactly what was promised. Communication was steady and decisions were easy.”

“BPS handled specs, submittals, and scheduling with zero drama. The project stayed on track and our team always knew the next step.”

“Bliss Products helped us choose equipment that fits our students and our site. Install went smoothly and the kids love the new space.”

“We started with benches and trash lids and ended up improving the whole common area. Bliss Products and Services was responsive and easy to work with.”

“Bliss Products brought practical options that met code and our budget. The playground looks great and supervision lines are much better now.”

“Our shade project finished on time and with minimal disruption. BPS followed up after completion and made sure everything was set up right.”

“Bliss Products and Services kept the process organized from first layout to punch list. We opened on schedule and under budget, and the site has been busy from day one.”

The feedback I’ve received over the years shows how important it is to choose the right recreation solutions for each community. Across Southeast Florida – from Hollywood and Pembroke Pines in Broward, to Port St. Lucie and Fort Pierce in St. Lucie County, and down through Homestead and Key Largo – I provide playground equipment, dog park amenities, shade structures, surfacing, shelters, outdoor fitness systems, and site furnishings that are built for our climate and daily use.  The next section gives an overview of the products I represent and how they can help your school, park, or neighborhood create safe, lasting spaces.

Playground and Outdoor Equipment for Southeast Florida Communities

From Stuart and Jensen Beach to Vero Beach, Boca Raton, and Key West, I provide equipment and amenities that meet the needs of schools, parks, and neighborhoods across Southeast Florida.

Every community is different, which is why I focus on providing products that fit the local environment and the people who use them.  In places like Jupiter, Hialeah, and Marathon, that might mean surfacing and shade that stand up to heat and heavy use.  In Delray Beach or Sebastian, it could be playground equipment, dog park features, or outdoor fitness systems that bring families and neighbors together.  Whatever the need, the products I represent are designed for safety, durability, and long-term value across Southeast Florida.

Safety surfacing Mrytle Grove Florida

Playground Surfacing

Choosing the right surfacing is all about safety and long-term use. In places like Port St. Lucie and Jupiter, I’ve helped schools and parks select poured-in-place rubber, turf, and tile systems that handle Florida’s heat and daily traffic. The goal is always the same — a surface that keeps kids safe and families confident.

Bike Racks & Trailhead Furnishings

Custom Shade & Branding Options

In Miami Gardens and Palm City, I’ve worked on projects where shade isn’t just a comfort — it’s a must. Whether adding canopies with school logos or custom-colored sails for neighborhood parks, these structures protect visitors from the sun while showing local pride.

Outdoor Fitness Equipment

Communities across Coral Gables, Wellington, and Marathon are embracing outdoor fitness spaces. Accessible Playground Equipment

Inclusion is at the heart of every good playground. I’ve worked with schools in Boca Raton and Fort Pierce to install ADA-compliant play structures that give all children a chance to join in. These spaces aren’t just accessible — they’re welcoming, fun, and built to last.

Picnic Tables & Gathering Spaces

Community parks in places like Key Largo and Vero Beach thrive when there are comfortable places to sit, eat, and gather. I help cities and HOAs choose picnic tables and layouts that suit their parks — whether it’s a family lunch spot, a shaded school courtyard, or a neighborhood event space.

Trash Receptacles & Site Essentials

Clean, safe parks depend on the details. Durable bins, clear signage, and simple site furnishings keep spaces easy to maintain and inviting for daily use. In Palm City and Homestead, I’ve worked with communities to choose solutions that stand up to heavy traffic and Florida weather.

The right products are only the beginning – what matters is how they transform real communities.  In West Palm Beach, Pompano Beach, and Islamorada, I’ve seen playground surfacing, shade structures, and outdoor fitness systems turn empty spaces into parks and schools that families rely on every day.  The next step is to look at recent projects where these choices came together, creating lasting recreation spaces across Southeast Florida.

From Miami Gardens to the Keys: Projects That Make a Difference

From playgrounds in Miami Gardens to surfacing in Pompano Beach and park upgrades in Indiantown, these projects showcase durable, lasting outdoor spaces across Southeast Florida.

Over the years, I’ve worked on projects of every size — from city-wide renovation programs to single park updates.  In Southeast Florida, that’s meant helping Miami Gardens with major bond-funded upgrades, supporting Hollywood with multi-site park improvements, and guiding smaller communities in the Keys with shade, surfacing, and dog park solutions.  Each project reflects the same goal: safe, inviting outdoor spaces that people enjoy every day.

Broward & Miami-Dade School District Projects

Working with schools across South Florida is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. In Broward and Miami-Dade counties, I’ve helped campuses like Bunche Park Elementary in Miami Gardens, Maplewood Elementary in Coral Springs, and Myrtle Grove Elementary in Opa-locka upgrade their play spaces to be safer, more engaging, and built for daily use.

Project Details

These projects combined new playground equipment, colorful surfacing, and much-needed shade. Students now enjoy spaces designed for active play and inclusive use, while durable materials ensure the playgrounds can stand up to Florida’s climate. Each campus gained a facility that feels modern, safe, and welcoming.

Personal Note:  Every school playground is an investment in children’s daily lives. My goal is to make sure those spaces last — and that they serve every student who walks through the gates.
From Miami and Fort Lauderdale to smaller communities like Homestead, Hialeah, Hollywood, and Pembroke Pines, every project reminds me that safe, shaded playgrounds truly change how kids experience their school day. Whether it’s a new shade canopy at a Miami-Dade elementary, a playground resurfacing in Port St. Lucie, or an inclusive play upgrade in Stuart or Vero Beach, I love seeing these spaces bring energy and connection to each neighborhood. My goal is always the same: helping schools and parks across South Florida create outdoor areas where children can thrive, no matter the size of the city or town.

Funding Support for Southeast Florida Playgrounds and Parks

Helping schools, cities, and counties turn grant awards into lasting community spaces.

As your Southeast Florida & Miami representative for Bliss Products and Services, I’ve seen how the right planning can turn ideas into community landmarks. From school playgrounds in Homestead and Cutler Bay to shaded recreation areas in Dania Beach and Boynton Beach, every project is shaped to meet the unique needs of its neighborhood. Whether it’s inclusive playground surfacing in Delray Beach, shade canopies for outdoor classrooms in Hallandale Beach, or fitness and park upgrades across Broward and Palm Beach counties, our focus is on delivering safe, durable, and inspiring spaces that families can count on for years to come.

State & Federal Grant Opportunities

Across Southeast Florida, from Hialeah and Hollywood to Boynton Beach and Cutler Bay, many schools and municipalities already rely on state and federal grants to make playground and park improvements possible. If you’ve identified a funding source, I can help ensure that the products from Bliss Products and Services — from shade structures and surfacing upgrades to site amenities like benches and picnic tables — align with program requirements. Getting started early allows us to match your project’s vision, timeline, and budget with the right opportunities.

Guidance on Proposal & Application Plans

Communities in places like Pembroke Pines, Coral Springs, and Delray Beach often approach us with a grant in hand but need support making their proposal as strong as possible. While I don’t write the applications for you, I can provide the details funders look for — from installation methods to the impact on students and residents. By pairing your goals with the right equipment and design features, we’ll make sure your application clearly demonstrates long-term community benefit.

Working with Local Government & Schools

Partnerships between schools, cities, and community groups in areas like Boca Raton, Pompano Beach, and Dania Beach are at the heart of many successful projects. If your district or municipality already has a collaborative effort underway, I can help identify the best equipment, surfacing, and site plans to ensure the funding you’ve secured is used effectively. Whether the goal is ADA upgrades, joint-use playgrounds, or shaded outdoor learning areas, I’ll make sure the solutions align with both your project vision and funding guidelines.

Curious How Playground Grants Make a Difference Here in Southeast Florida?

In Southeast Florida, grants and bond programs can turn schoolyards and parks into safe, durable places to play. When scope and budget are aligned with funding terms such as Davis-Bacon wages, domestic preference, and required submittals, projects move smoothly from award to closeout. I help cities and schools select compliant equipment packages, prepare product data, and plan phasing so inspections and payouts stay on track.
Nature-themed playground at Rolling Oaks Park in Miami Gardens, Florida, installed by Bliss Products and Services as part of the City’s GO Bond project.

Rolling Oaks Park — Miami Gardens, FL

Rolling Oaks Park was delivered under the City of Miami Gardens bond program with Davis-Bacon wage compliance. The scope includes two age-zoned playgrounds with poured-in-place safety surfacing matched to fall heights, an adult fitness station under a hip shade, and durable site furnishings for heavy daily use. Working with the City of Miami Gardens and Play & Park Structures, Bliss Products and Services coordinated specifications, product data, and submittals to meet funding terms and inspection milestones. This kept selections aligned with the budget and schedule and ensured materials, finishes, and shade perform in South Florida heat and storms. The park serves families daily with accessible routes, resilient surfacing, and comfortable shade.

Communities in places like Hialeah, Tamarac, and Key Largo are showing that every successful grant can ripple outward, inspiring the next project. From school shade structures in Pompano Beach to accessible play equipment in Margate, the key is matching funding with thoughtful planning and the right products.  By taking that approach, Southeast Florida neighborhoods create outdoor spaces that feel welcoming, last for years, and bring real value to families.

Stories from the Road in Southeast Florida

Insights from a playground and outdoor equipment specialist

Over the years I’ve had the privilege of traveling across Southeast Florida — from city playgrounds in Coral Gables and Sunrise to smaller community projects in places like Belle Glade and Key Biscayne. Along the way, I’ve gathered stories, lessons, and highlights that show how parks, schools, and neighborhoods bring outdoor spaces to life. This section shares some of those experiences, giving a closer look at the projects, people, and ideas that shape the way our communities play, gather, and grow.

Every community has its own story, and sharing these moments from the field is my way of highlighting the progress happening across Southeast Florida. Whether it’s a shaded schoolyard in Hialeah, a new playground in Davie, or surfacing upgrades in Belle Glade, each project reflects the care and collaboration that make outdoor spaces thrive. I look forward to bringing more of these stories to life as we continue building parks, playgrounds, and gathering places that serve families today and for generations to come.
