Bliss Products and Services (BPS) Project Overview
Northwest River Park – Camping Buildings – Chesapeake, Virginia
Project Setting
Northwest River Park is one of Chesapeake’s most treasured outdoor spaces, offering wooded trails, water access, and year-round camping. As visitor numbers grew, so did the need for durable and visually cohesive infrastructure to support overnight and day-use guests.
Design Challenge
The City of Chesapeake aimed to modernize outdated campground buildings without disrupting the natural appeal of the park. They needed structures that were both low-maintenance and ADA accessible, while maintaining a rustic look in harmony with the environment.
The BPS + CFP Solution
Bliss Products and Services partnered with Cedar Forest Products to supply a tailored set of camping support buildings for the project. This included cedar-clad restrooms, open-air pavilions, and utility units — all constructed from premium, sustainably harvested materials.
CFP structures were chosen for their timeless style and resilience. Pitched roofs, warm wood tones, and natural textures helped the buildings blend seamlessly with the wooded surroundings. BPS managed every phase of the project — from planning and delivery through to final installation — ensuring alignment with the City’s standards and long-term vision.
Today, these new facilities give Northwest River Park visitors the comfort of modern amenities within a naturally beautiful, forested setting.
