Ben Butler Rock House Pavilion - Hollywood, FL
Ben Butler Rock House Pavilion at Charles F. Vollman Park
Ben Butler Rock House Pavilion
Located inside Charles F. Vollman Park in Hollywood, Florida, the Ben Butler Rock House is tied to the area’s early development and the use of native oolitic limestone, often called coral rock.
This project focused on preservation and adaptive reuse, keeping the historic chimney wall as the visual anchor while transitioning the site into a functional open-air pavilion for public use.
The result is a refreshed pavilion-style gathering spot that keeps the original coral rock feature as the focal point, while giving the park a practical space for shade, meetups, and community use.
