Scott Park Rocket Themed Playground

Scott Park in Miami Gardens wanted a playground that felt playful and memorable as soon as children stepped onto the surfacing. Working with the City, Patty Carruthers and Bliss Products and Services used a rocket and stars theme, with bright poured in place rubber that turns the entire play pad into a night sky. Yellow stars and a sweeping comet graphic lead children toward the climbers, slides, and overhead events so the surface itself becomes part of the play experience.

The custom surfacing is paired with post and platform play structures, slides, and freestanding events that give kids room to climb, spin, and imagine space themed adventures. The layout keeps fall heights covered, creates clear circulation paths, and fits neatly under the mature tree canopy at Scott Park. The result is a colorful rocket themed playground that looks unique to Miami Gardens and provides a durable, low maintenance surface for daily use.

Personal Note:  Every time I visit Scott Park and see children racing across the stars on this rocket themed surface, I am reminded how much imagination shapes a playground. Watching kids turn the yellow comet into a launch path and the slides into re-entry chutes makes all the design work worth it. My goal is always to give schools and parks spaces that feel special to their neighborhood and still stand up to South Florida sun, rain, and daily use.
Across Southeast Florida I like pairing themed surfacing with the right mix of swings, climbers, and seating so the whole area tells one clear story from entry to exit. At Scott Park that story is all about rockets and night skies, but the same approach works for nature, coastal, or school colors. If you have a site that needs its own theme, I am happy to help you shape a design that fits your space, your budget, and the community that will use it every day.
