Project Overview
Bliss Products and Services (BPS), represented by June Rosenberg, our rep for Louisiana, recently completed an exciting playground project at Our Lady Of The Lake Catholic School located in Mandeville, LA. The school’s administration initially reached out to BPS with the intention of adding a few new freestanding pieces to their existing playground. However, upon conducting a thorough assessment of the current play area, June identified the potential for a more comprehensive upgrade that would significantly enhance the safety, accessibility, and overall play experience for the students.
Assessment and Recommendation
During the initial consultation, it became evident that the existing playground equipment was outdated and no longer met the safety and accessibility standards desired for a modern school playground. Our rep June advised the school to consider a complete overhaul of the playground, recommending the removal of the old equipment. This approach would not only ensure a safer environment but also allow for the installation of more engaging and durable play structures.
Selected Playground Equipment: Adventure Alley
The school was presented with two comprehensive playground options, and they chose the “Adventure Alley” play structure from Play and Park Structures (PPS). Adventure Alley is renowned for its engaging design and versatility, offering a wide range of activities that cater to children of different ages and interests. This structure includes features such as climbing elements, slides, and interactive panels, which together promote physical activity, imaginative play, and social interaction. The design encourages children to explore, challenge themselves, and engage with their peers in a fun and safe environment.
New Surfacing: Poured in Place
In addition to the new play structures, the playground now features brand new poured-in-place surfacing. This surfacing choice is both durable and safe, providing a cushioned layer that helps protect children from falls and injuries. The smooth, seamless surface is also accessible, making the playground inclusive for children of all abilities. The vibrant colors of the surfacing complement the play structures and add an inviting aesthetic to the play area.
